Friday night found several of us traversing the Greenway Trail from 28 to Riley's. It was a beautiful night with a full moon rising to the east. Joe, Mark, Amanda and I enjoyed a nice run to Riley's and then ran several more miles on the towpath. As we were running, our adventurous crew of Lorrin, Bill and Megan were riding their bikes in the dark on the towpath! And people think we're crazy to run in the DARK! Anyway, we did see a snake, raccoon, Great Blue Heron, several toads and two startled "hikers" (male and female) on the trail after Berryville. We also discovered that Riley's Lock is quite the happening place at night. This is apparently where many people come to fish, barbecue and hang out late at night -- there must have been 20-30 people there. Who knew?! Here are some pictures from the evening.

Very cool! I had no idea Riley's was a party spot! Next time we'll have to plan a post-run BBQ!
